These panels are supplied painted black with all text and symbols engraved white. The material used for the panels is opal (translucent white) which enables you to back-light them yourself in the future.

NOTE: The panels have rear recesses to allow clearance for switch mounting hardware etc because most aircraft panels are constructed so that they are essentially overlays and do not actually have the switches screwed to them directly, as shown here.
